Deaf Artist Show 2010

The Deaf Council, a service of Tamarind Art Council (TAC), is seeking works from artists who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing for our Second Annual juried show to be held in New York City.

To have your artwork considered for the exhibition, please submit digital images of artwork in high-resolution JPEG format (300 dpi or higher). Works may be submitted either by email or CD.  If you want your mailed materials returned, please include an SASE with return postage.

Please label works with your name, followed by a number which will correspond to a sheet with the following information: Title, Year, Medium and Size.  Also include an Artist Statement, CV and bio. Please make sure all materials are up to date as they may be used for promotional use.  All works submitted must belong to the Artist; borrowed works from another collector will also be allowed.

Submissions will be accepted until March 1, 2010.  Participants will be notified by March 15th.  If accepted, ready-to-display artworks must be shipped to Tamarind Art at 142 East 39th Street, New York, NY 10016 by no later than April 15, 2010.

This show will take place in Summer 2010 at the Tamarind Art Council in New York City.  Each Artist will be eligible to showcase two works.  All works must be framed beforehand and shipped ready to be exhibited.

We are looking for sponsorships for this exhibition to cover the cost of putting up the show and creating the catalog.  If you know of an organization that would be interested in sponsoring this show, please let us know.
